A few months ago some people said it was the laptop killer. I just received my iPad a few days ago and I am somewhat disappointed. This review is as a first few days impression and I have yet to unlock all the changes that the developers at Apple had to do from the ground up. Let me start with the pros.
Pros:
1. beautiful, and sleek display. if you are accustomed to the iTouch or iPhone you will like the large display
2. battery life says up to 9 hrs while surfing the web
3. portable, slim, and light
Cons:
1. so far it feels like really just a big iTouch or the same as the iphone minus texting and phone
2. does not have the capabilities to attach photos or files in emails
3. moving your fingers across a large screen is much more work than using a mouse
4. no flash or java applets capabilities
5. pay another $30 monthly for the data plan eventhough you already have an iPhone
Though the iPhone remains my favorite device, the iPad will not kill the laptop anytime soon. Once Apple figures out how to address the attach photos/files in emails, flash/java, and costly service data plan then it shall be given 3 stars. Can I do without an iPad…yes…but having one around is more fun.
